Born into a music loving family, Arpita Ghoshal started to exhibit her earnest interest in Hindustani Classical Music at a very early age. She particularly felt attracted towards Thumri Kajri Dadra Jhula Hori etc. and also has great admiration and dedication for Nazrul geeti Bangla Raag Prodhan Bhajan and Devotional songs. From a very tender age she performed in various prestigious concerts held in Shillong. She got the opportunity to perform the opening song in front of Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, Pandit Vijay Ghate, Pandit Bhawani Shankar at Sri Aurobindo Institute of Indian Culture, Shillong in the year of 2003.
Her musical journey began with learning classical music under Shrimati Bela Choudhury (disciple of late Pandit Prasun Banerjee and Meera Banerjee) in Shillong. Thereafter she is fortunate to have the kind guidance of Vidhushi Shubhra Guha, renowned vocalist of Agra Gharana and Guru at ITC Sangeet Research Academy, and Srimati Sabina Islam (proud disciple of Vidhushi Shubhra Guha and ex-Scholar of SRA).
Arpita's recent performances in various online musical projects have gained overwhelming appreciation. Presently, residing in Barasat, Kolkata, her aspiration is to flourish her musical career as an established vocalist.
