Srimati Jayasri Banerjee is the Secretary of an NGO named Maitali Institute of Culture and Welfare Organisation and a homemaker. Since childhood she had grown up in a rich cultural background. Her mother had been a great support and because of her she had started taking formal Rabindra Sangeet lessons from Mrs Putul Roy.
She has taken formal training under Mrs Shipra Chowdhury for Nazrul Geeti, Ghazal and Hindusthani vocals. Despite being caught up with her home making responsibilities she chose to come back to herself back to the world of music with her first attempt on Rabindra Sangeet - Aha Aji E Boshonte.
